Sought after as a passionate and dynamic performer, Rebecca Willie maintains a busy career as a chamber and orchestral musician. Ms. Willie currently resides in Greensboro, NC where she serves as Assistant Concertmaster of the Winston-Salem Symphony and performs with Legal Wood Project and Classical Revolution Greensboro. In 2015, Ms. Willie was invited to join ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in Columbus, OH.
Before relocating to North Carolina, Rebecca was a member of the Nashville Symphony for 12 seasons working under conductors such as Leonord Slatkin, Carlos Kalmar, and Peter Oundjian. During her time in the orchestra, the NSO received 7 GRAMMY wins and 14 nominations for their recordings of current American composers such as Joan Tower, Michael Daugherty, and Joseph Schwantner. In 2012 the NSO performed at Carnegie Hall on the Spring for Music series as the culmination of their eastern US tour.
From 2004-2014 Ms. Willie was Artistic Director of Eclectic Chamber Players which performed regularly across the Middle TN region including frequent appearances on Nashville Public Radio’s Live in Studio C and the OnStage series at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. In addition, Ms. Willie has continued to be a regular guest artist with the GRAMMY nominated Alias Chamber Ensemble. She has also performed on the chamber series of UNC Greensboro Summer Camp; Point Counterpoint Music Festival in Leceister, VT; Marrowstone Music Festival in Bellingham, WA; and Zephyr Music Festival in Northwest Italy
Ms. Willie was a member of the New World Symphony from 2000-2002. She holds a Bachelor’s of Music from the University of Cincinnati.
